NWFCO IMPLEMENTS MODEL CAMPAIGNS USING INNOVATIVE ACTION RESEARCH TECHNIQUES
NWFCO crafted model access to benefits campaigns for replication by state organizations nationally. The model campaigns, run in Northwest states first, used innovative tactics such as “testing projects” both to document members’ experiences and discriminatory practices used by state agencies, and to arm those members to negotiate with agencies for improved policies and practices, such as simplified applications, accommodations for non-English-speakers, and increased outreach.
