UNEQUAL TREATMENT IN THE BILLINGS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Discrimination and disparate treatment is pervasive in the Southside of Billings, a new study finds. The report, To Protect and Serve? was presented to the City Council by Montana People´s Action. Highlighting unequal treatment in the Billings´ police department, the report is based on a survey MPA did in two very economically different communities - Southside residents and residents of the wealthier Heights neighborhood. The report offers recommendations for how the Department can address this pervasive problem.
